Sandy and Andrew, Part 1
“The only way I’ll move again is if Kristine sets the house up for us.”
I’m never more honored than when a client not only chooses to work with me, but chooses to work with me more than once. This is a two-part client story series detailing how I helped my neighbors transition into two homes after earning their trust.
When Sandy and Andrew moved into a new house years ago, they were on two completely different pages and Andrew was skeptical about using an interior designer. Sandy was excited to move into a brand new space and wanted all brand new things to put in it. Andrew, a CPA, wanted to use things they already owned and knew a stereotypical interior designer might come in suggesting overpriced items they didn’t need. And besides- Andrew really liked a lot of what they already owned. Why replace everything?
Enter Styling and Staging with Kristine. After meeting with Sandy and Andrew, I got a feel for what they liked and loved in the old house and what they hoped for in their new space. Going from a larger, Tuscan-themed home into a recently flipped smaller home felt daunting for them, but not for me. I listened as Andrew mentioned art pieces from Hawaii that he loved; they reminded him of previous trips with Sandy and he hoped they’d find a place in their new home. I found out what the non-negotiables for them were (things like a specific chair pointing towards the TV) and then had fun defining areas in their new, more open floor plan.
Things went so well with Sandy and Andrew that I was hired to help them with their new home as well. In fact, Andrew said the only way he’d move would be if I came in to set everything up. I’ll share more of this story in a blog later this month.
At Styling and Staging with Kristine, I love bringing together things you already own in new and creative ways. I’m always happy to help you pick out practical, functional and stylish pieces if you want or need new items, but your home should be a reflection of you. Your office should be a place that feels welcoming, but helps you be productive. I customize my design ideas to your tastes and personality; after all, you’ll be the one spending hours in your space.
With the brain of an engineer and the flair of an artist, I come at projects differently than many interior designers. To book a consultation, email Kristine@StylingAndStaging.com, or call 847-815-6167 to schedule your custom in-home consultation.
