My painting trip to Italy was a stretch. I learned how to see inspiration around me ... and what an inspiring country it is.

I wouldn't call myself an artist. In fact, I had never had a pastels painting class before I registered 2 weeks in Italy on a Pastel Painting trip. It was a wonderful way to see the country, through the creative inspiration of a group of artists.

Here's the pastel painting I created in a royal garden in Florence. What a stretch ... what a challenge ... what a joy!

I highly recommend the challenge of getting out of your normal routine, and seeing things through foreign eyes, whether it's another country or another skill. Push past the fear. The results can be beautiful.
